Georgia Football Listed as Massive Favorites to Topple Arkansas Razorbacks

ATHENS - Georgia Football is listed as a massive favorite to win its first SEC game of the year against the Arkansas Razorbacks. 

Kirby Smart’s UGA Bulldogs have been installed as a 24.5-point favorite to beat the Hogs. Arkansas is coming off a 43-10 loss at No. 20 Utah. Georgia’s kickoff with Arkansas is at Noon on ABC. 

“You play in this league on the road,” UGA coach Kirby Smart said Saturday after the Dawgs’ 70-20 win over Western Kentucky, “You learn that it's a different environment. Every game is really hard - especially on the road; especially the first one.”

It hasn’t been common for Georgia to be placed as such a big favorite to win an SEC game on the road. Most recently Georgia was listed as a 30.5-point favorite to beat Missouri on the road in 2022. The Bulldogs struggled in that game until late - putting the Tigers away with a game-clinching drive in the fourth quarter. Those Bulldogs went on to win the national title that year. 

Georgia has never lost a game straight up as a favorite of over 21 points.  Since 2010, Georgia is a whopping 92-1 while being favorites of over two touchdowns or more. 

The movement of this line has been dramatic on FanDuel. In the summer, Georgia was listed as a 14.5-point favorite to win the game. Before this weekend the Bulldogs were listed as 17.5-point favorites to win the contest. Only Sunday did the game become so lopsided. 

The Bulldogs are listed as virtual co-favorites to win the national title along with Texas, Ohio State and Notre Dame. One reason is the play of Georgia Football QB Gunner Stockton, who has more touchdowns thrown than incompletions. 

“He's executing at a high level,” Kirby said of his starting quarterback. “He's tough. He'll stand in there and not flinch, but he's played well.”
