ATHENS - We’re coming off a big recruiting weekend in Athens as several up-and-coming prospects were in town to take in Georgia’s spring scrimmage on Saturday.

As expected, several new prospects added an offer from Georgia during their visits. Two new targets are in-state pass-catchers in 4-star TE Kaiden Prothro‍ and 3-star receiver, Christian Ward‍.

Prothro, a big, playmaking tight end out of Bowdon (GA), brings an excellent 6-foot-6 200-pound frame to the table along with outstanding ball skills. He’s one of the hottest prospects in the state right now who has earned recent offers from Georgia, Auburn, Notre Dame, and Alabama over the last few weeks.

Prothro finally earned his Bulldog offer this weekend and broke his reaction down with Dawg Post.

“I was filled with joy because a school like Georgia, how could you not be happy?” Prothro said.  “They’re an amazing program and are definitely trending for the future!! I know that Georgia is the type of school to make big plays in big games and in big moments. You are most definitely in the spotlight just about every Saturday!!”

As a sophomore last year, Prothro was a big-play machine and matchup nightmare for defenders all season long. He’s coming off a strong 2023 season where he caught 33 passes for 831 yards and 13 touchdowns. That’s an eye-opening 25.2 yards per catch. He’s a major weapon due to his size, ball skills, and natural athleticism. Look for his ranking to increase more and more over time in the 2026 class.

Then there's three-star receiver, Christian Ward. A multi-sport standout out of Carrollton (GA) flashed easy game-changing ability last year as a junior, providing the Carrollton offense with an explosive pass-catcher who can make big plays down the field.

The up-and-coming 6-foot-3 185-pounds didn’t light up the state sheet last year, catching just 12 passes, but he took them for 362 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 30 yards per catch. As a sophomore, against 7A competition, this speedy wideout scored almost half the time he caught a pass.

His stock is on the rise for a reason, and he’s bound for a monster 2024 season as a junior. He brings speed, size, and the ability to score on any particular play. Now, he holds an offer from Georgia, and the Trojan receiver broke it down with Dawg Post.

“I was excited and felt extremely blessed to receive an offer from Georgia”, Ward told Dawg Post. “I know that Georgia has a top-notch academic program and of course, Georgia is always going to handle business on the football field.”
