ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have wrapped up their third week of spring practice and their first spring scrimmage this past weekend.

There were plenty of high-level prospects in Athens on Saturday to take in Georgia’s practice, and one of them was Alabama running back commitment, Anthony Rogers‍.

A strong, shifty, explosive runner at 5-foot-8 185-pounds, Rogers played his freshman and sophomore seasons at Pike Road (AL) where he had a combined 2,765 yards and 40 touchdowns, averaging over 9 yards per carry. But at IMG Academy (FL) last season, Rogers only rushed 41 times for 316 yards and 5 touchdowns in nine games. So now, Rogers has transferred to Carver High School in Montgomery for his final season.

As far as his recruitment goes, Rogers committed to Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide back in June of 2023. Even through the coaching change, Rogers has stayed committed to the Tide.

But Rogers was in Athens over the weekend, and he made sure to let Dawg Post know how his visit went.

“I like how Georgia uses their backs”, Rogers told Dawg Post. “They get a lot of carries and they’re not afraid to throw the ball to them. They told me that I would be a good fit for their program and that going to Georgia would develop me not only as a player but as man. Kirby Smart's winning record and championships speak for themselves and coach Crawford gave some good pointers to his backs during meetings.”

Crawford also noted that taking an official visit to Georgia down the road is a “possibility”.

New Bulldog running backs coach Josh Crawford has one current commitment in three-star Bo Walker‍. Look for Crawford to add at least one more, with Rogers and in-state back Ousmane Kromah‍ being highly-ranked backs to keep an eye on.

Rogers is currently ranked as the No. 5 RB and No. 82 overall in the 2025 class.
