ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are on fire right now.

They’re the odds-on favorite to win the national championship next year and just signed the No. 1 recruiting class in the country this winter.

Now, the Dawgs are looking to do it again in the 2025 class. During Georgia’s third spring practice on Saturday, Smart and his staff had several major targets on campus to watch how a championship-caliber program practices.

One big target in town was four-star, Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng‍. A fast-reacting, hard-hitting linebacker with a versatile skill set, this Virginia native earned an offer from Smart and the Dawgs back in January. Dawg Post reported that the IMG Academy (FL) four-star would be in Athens for a spring visit, and that visit came on Saturday.

“The development part of it all stood out the most”, Owusu-Boateng said. “If you come to Georgia you're going to get developed no matter what level you're on. What I like most about coach Schumann is he’s real. He doesn’t sugarcoat and tells you how it is straight up. He’s good at what he does and wants the best for all his players.”

In just eight games last fall, the 6-foot-2 215-pounder made 45 tackles, six TFLs, and forced one fumble. He’s ranked as the No. 5 LB prospect and the No. 59 overall prospect in the 2025 class.

A major in-state defender in town was Warner Robins EDGE defender, Isaiah Gibson‍. A promising pass-rusher who can attack the quarterback at 6-foot-4 240-pounds, Gibson was back in Athens this weekend to watch the Dawgs practice.

“It was just an amazing visit. I was able to speak a lot with coach Scott and coach Diribe. I love the way coach Scott coaches. “You can tell he cares for his players on and off the field.”

The four-star defender is coming off a strong junior season where he made 42 tackles,12 TFLs, 6 sacks and 24 quarterback hurries. He’s ranked as the No. 12 EDGE defender and the No. 148 overall prospect in the country for the 2025 class.
