ATHENS - After signing just one quarterback in the 2024 class in four-star Ryan Puglisi, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs must land one of the nation’s best in the 2025 cycle.

The clear target is 5-star Julian Lewis‍. The elite signal-caller out of Carrollton (GA) is currently committed to Southern Cal, but he’s been a major target for offensive coordinator Mike Bobo for a long time now, and the Bulldogs have hosted him on campus consistently over the last 24 months.

The elite 6-foot-1 180-pounder plans to be back in Athens for another visit on March 14th, but he won’t be the only big-time quarterback visiting Athens around that time.

Dawg Post confirmed that dual-threat quarterback Matt Zollers. The 6-foot-4 200-pounder out of Spring-Ford High School in Royersford, Pennsylvania told us this week that while he doesn’t have a specific date planned just yet, he does plan on visiting Georgia for a spring practice.

The Bulldogs start spring practice on March 12th and will practice for the next five weeks leading up to their annual G-Day scrimmage inside Sanford Stadium on April 13th.

Lewis, ranked as the No. 8 overall prospect in the country, knows he’s a wanted man in Athens. For now, Lewis is set to play for Lincoln Riley out west, but several sources tell Dawg Post that the Bulldogs are still firmly in the race. The Carrollton (GA) star reclassified to the 2025 class and will enroll early, so look for his final decision to be made by the end of the summer.

However, if Lewis does stay with Southern Cal or decides to flip elsewhere, sources say newly-offered Matt Zollers would be a name a keep a close eye on. Mike Bobo and the Dawgs offered Zollers in mid-January and it’s easy to see why when you dive into his junior film. He’s a big kid with good feet and the ability to make plays with his legs. He shows promising arm talent and makes good decisions with the football. He looks the part and shows a live arm with impressive accuracy and ball placement down the sideline. As a junior, Zollers was 182/290 (63%) for 2,917 yards, 37 touchdowns, and two INTs. He also rushed 67 times for 431 yards and seven touchdowns.

Zollers is ranked as the No. 8 QB prospect and the No. 85 overall prospect in the country for the 2025 class.
