ATHENS - Did Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs just offer the next Brock Bowers?

Well, no. Seeing that Brock Bowers is the greatest college football tight end of all time, it’s hard to imagine anyone close to Brock Bowers coming to Athens, or anywhere in college football, anytime soon.

However, the Dawgs did just offer a young tight end from California who gives off Brock Bowers vibes. At least that what incoming running back Nate Frazier thinks.

The young tight end is Mark Bowman, a big 6-foot-5 215-pounder out of powerhouse Mater Dei (CA).

The Southern California playmaker earned an offer from the Bulldogs on Monday after freshman season where he caught 11 passes in nine games for 125 yards and four touchdowns.

Those numbers won’t blow anyone away, but it’s important to include some context. Meter Dei is arguably the biggest and most successful high school program in the country, and this young freshman found a way to see the field and make an impact.

When you turn on the film, it’s easy to see that Bowman does play a lot like the Georgia legend. He runs well for his size, shows good hands, and can pick up big yards after the catch. He doesn’t mind contact and does a good job of staying on his feet to pick up extra yards. He’s a threat down the field, but he’s also a weapon in the screen and short passing game.

“I was super excited for sure”, Bowman told Dawg Post. “Georgia has been a dream school since I was young. I am for sure trying to come out for a visit.”

Bowman might be a new name for most, but Georgia freshman running back Nate Frazier, who also played at Mater Dei, knows how good Bowman already is.

“Go show Baby Brock some love”, Frazier tweeted after Bowman earned his Bulldog offers.

He may be young, but Bowman is a big-time tight end to keep an eye on over the next several years.
