ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are trying to get healthy before a critical road test at Mississippi State on Saturday night.

It remains to be seen if AD Mitchell will be back out there this weekend against Mississippi State. But it looks like Robert Beal, who left the game during Georgia’s 27-13 win over Tennessee, will be ready to play.

“Robert had a stinger and feels good. We'll see,” Kirby said Monday. “But I feel good about him being able to play.”

Those two players aren’t the only two being watched this week on the injury front. Offensive linemen Xavier Truss (toe) and Amarius Mims (knee) are both trying to play this weekend at State as well.

“They’ve all been great. They’ve all been super,” Kirby said about about Beal, Mitchell, Amarius Mims and Xavier Truss. “AD’s probably the furthest behind those guys. He hasn’t taken reps but he’s out there running. The rest of those guys are all repping.”

Georgia is entering the stretch run of the season - playing three of four games on the road before hosting Georgia Tech two days after Thanksgiving. Georgia travels to Mississippi State to play the other Bulldogs Saturday night on ESPN. The No. 1 Dawgs are listed as a 16.5-point favorite as of Tuesday morning.

The Dawgs used their lethal defense to hold Tennessee’s powerful offense in check the entire day during a lopsided 27-13 win over the Vols on Saturday. Georgia jumped out to a 24-3 halftime lead, and the Vols never got into the game in the second half as rain soaked a packed Sanford Stadium as the night drew closer and the game ended.
