ATHENS - Georgia Bulldog head coach Kirby Smart has preached to his team all summer one simple phrase.
“We will not be hunted at the University of Georgia. I can promise you that.”
The Georgia Bulldogs are fresh off their first national championship since 1980 and the entire college football world will do their best to take down the Bulldogs this season.
Teams think they’re hunting the Bulldogs, but according to Kirby Smart, the Georgia Bulldogs will be the hunters once again this season.
“A new year and a new brotherhood”, Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett says in the game one trailer. “Even with a challenging path ahead of us, our goal still remains the same. With high goals come resistance. We hunt. We take. We don’t back down to a challenge. Today our mind is set on one goal, but tomorrow we attack the day.”
The Georgia Bulldogs “attacked the day” just about every Saturday last fall and it led to a championship. It won’t be easy to repeat, but the Georgia Bulldogs will still be hunting every Saturday this season.

It’s duck hunting season on Saturday, and the Bulldogs don’t have to travel far to get their shot at the Ducks, led by former defensive coordinator, Dan Lanning. Oregon comes into the game ranked No. 11, so they’ve got a nice little team this fall, but in the end, it’s going to be extremely hard beating the reigning national champions in their own back yard.
The Bulldogs go hunting in Atlanta to open the season, and it could be the start of another special season.
The Bulldogs are 16.5-point favorites according to FanDuel, and Dawg Post likes Georgia’s chances to cover come Saturday evening. You can watch the Bulldogs play against the Ducks at 3:30 PM on ABC from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
