ATHENS - Georgia Bulldog defensive lineman Elijah Griffin spoke with reporters on Tuesday to talk about Alabama, the Bulldog defensive line, and more.

On Alabama...

“They’re a physical team. We're a great team, a great physical team, too. So it'll be a great challenge for us, but ultimately, all the things that we do from yesterday's practice to today's practice, all those things lead up to Saturday. So if we execute well, we'll get the job done for sure.”

On the excitement playing on a big stage...

“We're super excited because we don't back down from any challenges. We run to the storm, we don't want to run away from it. So we're definitely 100% ready, in my opinion.”

On Valdin Sone...

“I’ve seen his growth to being a consistent pass rusher. He's super twitchy, super fast. He reminds me of myself a little coming in. He's growing, you know, I'm just trying to find his path and his role. That takes time.

On Jordan Hall...

“That's my big brother. He's a leader. Captain on this team, and, for him, battling injuries in the past, just to finally get that attention that he deserves. He's done a great job with just teaching me how to stay calm during the storm since he's been there and done that.”

On his role...

“I accepted my role and I feel like I've done well but I can honestly say I haven't played my best game yet. Ultimately I'm striving every day to work to it. I'm just being patient and letting the place come to me.”

On the linebackers...

“They're making plays. I just know I'm doing my job, you know? So as long as I'm doing my job, those guys can make plays. Chris Cole, Rayland, Jay Will, we take up doubles for them and they make plays and we're happy. That's it.”

On what it will take hfor him to play his best game...

“Just having better conversion rush in the passing game. Honestly, just going there and producing war. I feel like I haven't played bad but there's still more work to be done. There's plenty of goals I'm chasing and I'm just working to drive towards that every day.”

On stopping the run against Alabama...

“I feel like we play well at stopping the run. Alabama’s really good at running the ball so it would be a great challenge for us, but like I said, we never run away from it. So what we do today, you know, during practice, you know, that'll lead up to Saturday.”

On Alabama’s offense...

“I'd probably say the offensive line. They always have had a great offensive line unit. I think year by year they just continue to get better with that. And Keelan Russell, he's that guy, you know. Really quick, you know? Kind of reminds me of Jalen Milroe a little bit. We’ve got to keep him in the trap and he's a great football player. “

On preparing differently for Alabama...

“We don't put our opponents on a pedestal no matter who we're playing from the lowest tier to the highest tier, you know, we all approach it the same. For myself, I approach it the same because, it’s just another game. Just go out there and do what we do.”

On getting everyon’es best shot...

“Everybody treats us like a Super Bowl. I wish I could understand. It makes sense as a rivalry for the past few years or whatever. At the end of the day, we just go out there and do what we do.”
