ATHENS - Georgia Bulldogs defensive backs coach Jahmile Addae is leaving Kirby Smart’s program.
Addae is heading to work for Mario Cristobal at Miami according to CaneSports.com. The move opens up the defensive backs coach spot for the Bulldogs. Although Will Muschamp worked with the defense and the defensive backs in 2021, it remains to be seen if Kirby will fill the position with a new coach or go with Muschamp.
Georgia has had several coaching changes this offseason - the most notable being Dan Lanning leaving Athens to be the head coach at Oregon. The Ducks travel to Atlanta to take on UGA in the season opener at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in September.
Lanning was replaced last week by Chidera Uzo-Diribe, who left SMU for TCU before being hired by Kirby. Former Georgia receiver and assistant coach Bryan McClendon was hired for the vacant receivers spot.
Cristobal has slowly been building his staff in Coral Gables. That includes hiring Josh Gattis, who had some explosive comments about Michigan he said as he was leaving Ann Arbor. The No. 3 Bulldogs took out Gattis and the No. 2 Wolverines in the Orange Bowl in December.
