Was also at UGA on an unofficial visit yesterday with her mother. If the last name rings a bell, it is because Teonni's big sister is indeed Tennessee commit Tamari Key. Tamari is a 2019 kid out of North Carolina. Teonni has grown a few inches, because she was 6'0, but she is at least 2-3 inches taller, towering over Joni who stands at 6'1. Teonni is in the class of 2021, and that is going to be a monster class for Georgia. Joni currently sits well with three kids that are in the Top 25 currently in Kayla McPherson (5'7), Sania Feagin (6'3) and Jillian Hollingshed (6'4). Teonni is a wing player and she could play the 3/4. McPherson plays AAU with Kaila Hubbard's father and to me, he is a major reason why Jordan Isaacs waited to see what Maori was going to do, because we slow played her. Once the staff was informed where Maori was headed, Joni reached out to Isaacs to give her a chance to commit to UGA. We tried the same thing with Saxton last year and it backfired on us. The staff thought that they had a great chance at Olivia Nelson-Ododa and when we tried to turn up the heat on Saxton it was too late, but again those are my personal theories. Saxton would have been an easy get, because UGA normally gets kids from Team Elite programs if they want them and Kayla McPherson is the next great from Team Elite.
