There could be some staff turnover, too. We have GOT to keep our core freshmen, and we have got to hit the portal HARD. We need to find some difference-makers both in the post and on the perimeter. The portal means no players are safely on the team next year at the moment. It's like fruit basket turnover every year. It becomes harder and harder to be a fan....

Definitely no NIT. We probably had an auto-bid with a win last night, but we missed out on that. I don't see any way we get an at-large.
And yes, Mike White has to win both sides of the portal. He has to keep the freshmen, and he has to get (at least) a true PG and a functional big man to transfer in. If he does all of that, the expectation should be 20 wins next year.

I don't know if we get an NIT bid, but if the committee looks at the Dawgs strength of schedule, conference, and season as a whole they should definitely be deserving. I Would like to see them go and make a run to the Big Apple. Go Dawgs

SB - maybe I'm paranoid, but I didn't necessarily like the comments by Demery on the four freshmen. Hope I'm reading too much into it. Those three are starters in 24.

It really is maddening. It's almost as if we used up all our good luck in '82-'83 making our only Final Four.... Our rebounding has been bad all year. Tchewa was just not active or nimble enough to clean the boards. We need a couple of tough, tough rebounders. And yes, we need a PG. We also need a couple of perimeter shooters. That's a lot to take care of in one off season, but the portal can be the great leveler.Nostradawgus said:

It seemed Blue Cain was very locked this season,
and I'd hope both he and Silas Demary, Jr., stick around for another season bc I think both of them individually and the team will be even more improved.
As for possible NIT, if you look at this link and scroll all the way down it has the Dawgs as a projected 4 seed, hosting it's 1st game. If they come out focused and determined, they could make things interesting imho.
