I don't know about you guys, but I'm really tired of being pushed around by USCe. They have been more physical than us in recent years. But they didn't push us around last night. And they were the ones screaming about the officials, who I thought did a pretty good job. I agreed with both of the flagrant calls. I wish this rule was enforced more to be honest. The key was I thought we defended the FT line really well. LOL We outrebounded them 45-36, and we hit 8 more FTs than they did, even though we shot the same amount. Sunahara again did nothing in 9 minutes. I don't get starting him. Tchewa got 2, count'em, 2 rebs. That's not good enough. A friend of mine texted me during the game that we don't need a 7 foot PG - so true. Get the ball out of his hands out front. He does make a good % of FTs however. Another buddy called today and complained about Anselem-Ibe playing so many minutes in the 2nd half. I thought Frank was pretty active myself. He had 5 rebs during his 14 minute stint. 3 guys in double figures and 2 just missed, so we had balanced scoring. Demary is getting better and better - 15 pts, 7 rebs and 9-12 on FTs. Those are great numbers, and he will only get better. We did not have one of our better nights from 3 - 3-13, but USCe was 6-26. Only 8 TOs on the night. I love when we are under 10. 37% from the floor is not great; that needs to improve. But all in all, a good solid win on the road.
BTW I was impressed with both coaches last night. Paris appears to be a pretty sharp guy.
