ATHENS - Big things are coming for multiple members of Georgia’s elite 2025 recruiting class.
Sources tell Dawg Post that several freshmen are impressing behind the scenes during fall practice with one in particular standing out in a big way.
Defensive linemen, Elijah Griffin.
The former five-star prospect from Pooler, Georgia earned praise from Kirby Smart during SEC Media days and has been working his tail off so far during fall practice.
“Elijah’s been great,” Smart told reporters. “He had a great spring. You don’t have to tell him something twice. He’s very consistent. He’s a great kid.”
Griffin has also impressed a Georgia Bulldog legend who leads the program in career sacks.
Three-time All-American David Pollack. Here’s what Georgia’s sack leader had to say about Griffin recently on Atlanta radio station 92.9 The Game.

According to FanDuel, the Dallas Cowboys have +186 odds to make the NFL Playoffs this winter.
“I’m looking up at him by several inches,” Pollack said about Griffin. “He’s 315 pounds. I couldn’t have been more impressed with his maturity and his athletic ability. He hits 20 mph on the GPS. That’s not human. He’s a truck. It’s amazing to watch. He looks like he has a chance to be really, really special. He’s got special written all over him.”
Obviously, Pollack knows what a great defensive linemen looks like. The former ESPN college football analyst is still close to the Georgia program and clearly liked what he saw out of the promising defensive tackle.
Griffin flashed during Georgia’s G-Day scrimmage in April and sources continue to rave about how impressive he’s been during fall camp. The 6-foot-4 315-pounder is coming off a dominant senior season last fall at Savannah Christian where he made 53 tackles, 27 TFLs and 8.5 sacks in nine games. Over his entire high school career, Griffin made 301 tackles, 96 TFLs and 44 sacks. He’s big, physical, explosive, and brings outstanding athleticism for someone his size.
The hype is real, and that’s something Georgia fans should be very, very happy about.
