We have emerged from non-conf play at 10-3. For me this was the best case, ceiling for this team.

Now comes conference play. Can this team grind to a .500 conference record and get on the bubble?

Monk, what say you? The games I have had a chance to watch in great length have been their worst, so I am leaning more pessimistic.

Nostra, I'm afraid I am becoming a bit like you in this situation. Our 10-3 pre-conference record is the same as last year. If we could have pulled out, say, the Providence game, I would feel better. We had no shot with Oregon or Miami really. I don't know that this roster can stand up to the pounding the SEC will dish out every game. I see concerns all over the place. We aren't rebounding at the level I had hoped. Melendez has to play within himself and not get carried away trying to shoot from distance. Jabri has to make shots and get to the line every night to give us a chance. Thomasson needs to give us consistent scoring at the 2. I'm not pleased with our seeming lack of depth inside, but maybe Sunahara will help that when he finally gets healthy. I hope we aren't seeing his best. Deloach and James need to contribute. Demary is doing a pretty good job; I just hope he and Cain don't hit a wall. I would like to see us more multiple on defense, too.

Not Monk...but I am taking a hopeful view. Lets see if we can win vs. Mizzou...got my fingers crossed at 10 wins in SEC play.

What a win and I'm liking how this team battle the entire game. This team have proven people wrong time and time again. This trend will keep happening throughout this season. The freshmen's have made me a believer, they do whatever it takes to win and that's a recipe for big time wins after big time wins!!

The game is certainly winnable, but Arky got trounced at home by Auburn over the weekend. They will not be happy coming into Athens. I suspect they play with a lot of intensity in the Steg. We better be ready to match them....

"This team have (sic) proven people wrong time and time again"? How so? We were 10-3 in pre-conference play, just like last year. This was a very nice road win, but let's get off the hyperbole train. This was Tchewa's first really good game; Melendez hasn't done much; Sunahara has been non-existent so far; Deloach has done nothing; Thomasson has been streaky but very good at times; Demary has been very good most of the time for a freshman PG; Cain has done OK; James and Jordan have done nothing. So, 1 freshman has done very well and one has been OK. This team plays hard and didn't fully let that 17 pt lead slip away, which is commendable. But let's not act like we are King Kong or king of the hill yet.

The way you talk about this team you think we are 3-12 and not 12-3! This board would probably be more active if you all didn't knit pick the team to death! Show me a perfect player or team?? This is a game that will have highs and lows!!! Georgia basketball has been in the dumps for a very long time and now we have something to be excited about, with a chance to go dancing or post season play. Let's be excited about the product that CMW has put out in his 2nd year here! GoDawgs beat Vols on Saturday anyway we know how!!!

Mimi's dad walked up behind me last night after the game. He yelled out my name. We hadn't seen each other in a while. He and Mimi are great dawg basketball fans. Mini's dad left the dawgvent a few months back. People with great character and inside info can't stay on the dawgvent. It's gone way down hill over the years. It used to be a great site. But not anymore.

Mizzou was a nice win; we squeaked out the FSU game; Tech and Arky were awful, and we got a good win at home against Wake. I don't know any team that gets better by having sunshine pumped up their ass for winning mostly games they were highly favored in. Please don't try to tell me about UGA basketball. I've cheered for UGA hoops for over 50 years and been a season ticket holder through good times and bad. I played pickup games with some of the guys in the early 80s and worked Durham's basketball camps. I was a coach, and I watch games like a coach, not a fan. Every player and every team works on their weaknesses and mistakes to improve. Show me a coach that doesn't give constructive criticism of a team after a game - every game win or lose - and work to correct them, and I'll show you a loser. Show me a player that doesn't work on his weaknesses, and I'll show you a player who is never gonna excel. Do you try to show your basketball ignorance, or does it just come naturally without effort? The reason this board is not active is because there simply aren't many UGA hoops fans. Most of our fanbase doesn't give a damn about basketball. And those that do can probably understand constructive criticism when they see it. Or you can go around patting yourself on the back after a couple of wins and go on to lose....

Your little insults are the reason this forum is so dry and weak and not a lot people are on it! The UGA sports hoops forum are much better! I can promise you, I've played and coach at a much higher level than you ever did! It's ok to be critical, but sometimes your critique are overboard at times!! I join this hoops forum because I liked some of the players that Mike White in and the culture is definitely switching over to something that we all can get behind and help drive this program to the level we all want it to be!!
