in the process of making a decision. I have to feel confident that Newell, despite some serious interest from some major programs around the country (Bama, Texas, Gonzaga and others), will choose the Dawgs. He was born in Athens, as I recall, though raised in FL; his brother is a walk on with the Dawgs; he's visited Athens on numerous occasions, including his last OV; White and his staff have followed Newell to tourneys all over the country; White has thrown the kitchen sink at Newell in his effort to sign him. I don't think White could do more. The interest in and need for Newell cannot be more clear. In Athens, Newell can create a legacy that he could not at other schools. And Newell is the bell cow for this class. Once he commits, the rest fall into place - Rooths, Reid and others. Newell is as close to a must as is possible for us.

Some recruiting guy put out a tweet that said that things could be getting interesting with Reid. I had heard that Reid and Newell were tight and might want to play together. If so, we provide that opportunity. And Rooths would likely come along for the ride. Looks like Newell is the key. If so, I don't think that we could do any more than we have done to get him.

I think the staff is confident. If things go our way, this could be a fantastic class....
