Competition for him has heated up lately, but it's a good sign that his last visit is with us. He is expected to announce a decision soon after. Fingers crossed. White really needs to get Newell as the 1st building block to a key recruiting class.

I had dinner last night with a buddy from Washington who is a big Gonzaga fan. Out of the blue, he told me that Gonzaga was losing a recruit to Georgia.
That's really good news, because I know that Gonzaga has been trying to get in on Newell. They made a late charge to try to get him. Sounds like we held them off. Maybe Newell is solid to us. He's really the key to this class. Everything else flows from him. Rooths and/or Reid would be great additions, as well, but it starts with Newell. I don't know how things stand with guards right now, but guards, as I have said before, are a big need in this class as well. But White has pulled out all the stops for Newell.ugalee said:
