There's a great Durham story post all this as he made the Bulldog Club circuit. He was recounting losing Rolan to MLB and quipped as only Durham could clip: "it was hard to beat $250k…under the table."

Also, I am reminded that Fred McGriff signed with UGA out of HS before being drafted by the Yankees. The Crime Dawg was one of my favorites....

or was he being recruited for baseball only?
