through the portal, Miami, San Diego St., FAU and UConn all have done tremendous work in the portal.

The Final Four teams are a fascinating case study. We have two mid majors, a blue blood, and a P5 nouveau riche.

I saw an article somewhere on the interwebs that Miami was the face of the new NIL landscape. They are the product of NIL. End stop.

UConn is blue blood with history.

The other two can't believe they are here and presumably are inspiration to anyone such as UGA that it CAN be done.

You have the portal facts, Monk. I still think the earth is flat and you have to build with high school players, not the portal year in and out.

Maybe the truth is a combination of NIL, portal inspiration, and high school recruiting. I'm just tired of watching us beat our heads against the wall. Besides, it's apparently tearing up Stegeman

The Final Four is fascinating, and CBS's worst nightmare. Not a 1, 2 or 3 seed in the bunch....

I think Miami has a very advanced NIL program. I think I read that one kid that transferred in is making $400K in NIL money. That's pretty tall cotton.

NIL and the portal have totally changed the face of college basketball. Simply recruiting HS kids isn't enough. You can't keep kids in the program for any length of time if they aren't being rewarded, either in PT or in NIL. You have to be constantly recruiting your own roster. Both NIL and the portal mean that teams can rebuild quickly if you make it worth a kid's while. White has his work cut out for him.

Yes, I think coaches have to use every tool in their toolbox these days. It's a tough job, but that's why they get the big bucks....

I think more and more this is up to Brooks. He's either going to do what needs to be done from an internal support angle, or ensure that it gets done externally.
