Any word on the status of the Coliseum?

I was talking with a local media figure last night. He said he had recently spoken with a very high profile HS coach in Atlanta who said that kids don't want to play in Stegeman and that the new gyms around the conference have and will make it harder to recruit to Athens. Now, he is far better placed to have the pulse of local HS players. But, not being a 16, 17 or 18 year old HS kid, I just don't see Stegeman as any great impediment to recruiting. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe kids go to Tech or Bama or Auburn or Ole Miss, etc., because they have a shiny new gym. I don't know. It doesn't seem to have helped Tech or Ole Miss that much. Auburn and Bama became recruiting juggernauts when their current coaches took over. Pearl didn't have a new gym when he got to Auburn, but he recruited pretty well without one. Bama hasn't built their new gym yet, but Oats is still recruiting really well. So, I don't get the facility argument....

Also, as far as I've heard, the damage to Stegeman is minimal.

The facility hasn't been the problem in 15+ years. That's a narrative from our failed coaches.
