Damon Stoudemire, current Celtics assistant, former HC at Pacific and assistant at several other Power 5 schools. I don't know what to think about this hire. Seems way too fast, and I don't see a natural connection to this area for recruiting....

If they didn't at least call Abdur-Rahim, that seems crazy. My Tech basketball friend gives it an instant reaction of 6/10.

Seems very rushed. Tech could have waited 1 week until KSU was likely out of the tourney to talk with Abdur-
Rahim, at the very least. I would judge it a very underwhelming hire, but it is Tech, so there's that....

It's a good hire with more proven success and recruiting experience than the KSU coach.

Abdur-Rahim was just the first that came to mind. There are tons of good coaches out there. This hire was out of left field.

And Tech's only 2023 recruit - Blue Cain, a guard from Knoxville who played at IMG, we may have interest in - was let out of his NLI, so Stoudamire will pretty much be starting from scratch.... Cain was Tech's only signee.

Interesting that Stoudamire's first coaching job was under Pastner....
