What did you think of the teammate's "pat down"

of Brandon Miller at Bama this weekend? I think it was incredibly tone-deaf and crass. I'm not sure Miller should be playing at all. I know that no charges have been filed against Miller as yet, but the police and the school have to be investigating this situation. You bring a gun to a scene where a murder occurs with the same gun, and you block the exit of the car in which the victim was traveling...? Certainly, if the school had any integrity (admittedly, perhaps a big ask over at Bama), Miller should be suspended.

I am friends with a Bama fan. He is of the apologist group. Their justification - this is how MMA checks fighters before a fight. They have been doing it all season.

And this is the best - Brandon Miller did not bring a gun, he RETURNED a gun. Get it?

This is why big time basketball players don't come to UGA. He would have been suspended in January and everyone knows it. I'm not saying that's a bad thing.

While I agree that UGA tends to overreact to particularly non-football-related incidents (and yes, Miller should have been suspended), this is not why big time basketball players don't come to UGA. Recruits may see a lack of support for the basketball program, a lack of game atmosphere in the Steg, a lack of history of success in basketball, a lack of NIL deals, etc., as a reason not to come to UGA. They are not thinking about potential suspensions for possible accessory to murder charges.... A friend of mine is dumbfounded that a program like Baylor, which was dealing with the murder of a player and a cover up, rebounded to win a championship just a couple of years ago. It's mostly, IMHO, about making good hires and giving them the support they need. We blew up the program when Harrick had it headed in the right direction and have never recovered. We made 3 BAD hires in a row - Felton, the drill sargeant, Fox, the control freak and outsider with no connections, and Crean, the weirdo. We compounded the problem by pouring money into football while basically ignoring basketball. That won't cut it.
