Is Auburn officially now a basketball school?

Not sure. But they've always been a cheating school. I know that for certain. The football team still has a lot of good players. But their basketball program is way ahead of football at this moment in time.

Now, the interesting thing will be if their basketball team starts to suffer like their football team. With NIL Auburn football has no "competitive edge". Everybody pays now. Weekends at the Dye cabin don't save them anymore.
The question is whether Pearl has the $$ to now compete on a equal market footing. My guess is based on the fact his teams are largely based on GA kids, unless we get our NIL house in order for hoops he'll still be successful. But it will be illustrative to watch their recruiting now . . .

To your point, I spoke with someone who has spoken with a number of SEC coaches. They noted that it is commonly known that 1 coach in the conference is cheating his ass off. 2 guesses as to who that is, and the 1st one doesn't count....Dawg44 said:

Pearl signed 3 players this season - 2 from AZ and 1 from CA - but none from GA. He has a 5 star, a 4 star and a 3 star coming in. The 5 star had been an LSU recruit until they fired their cheating coach. It is interesting that he ended up signing with AU after he rescinded his commitment to LSU.
