ATHENS - It appears Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs should be getting more big news on the recruiting trail soon.
The Dawgs are once again pushing for the No. 1 class and have 27 commitments on board. Now it looks like more should be jumping on board very soon.
Here’s when Georgia’s top remaining targets plan to make their commitments...
4-star DB Tyriq Green out of Buford (GA) s announcing Saturday at 4 between Georgia, Miami and Auburn. Right now Dawg Post would be very surprised if Georgia wasn’t the pick. The 5-foot-10 180-pounder has held a Bulldog offer since his freshman season at Kell and has turned into one of the top two-way athletes across Georgia. As a junior last season, Green picked off five passes for the Wolves last fall while rushing for 527 yards and 8 touchdowns. He’s ranked as the No. 13 safety and the No. 165 overall prospect in the country.
5-star Kaiden Prothro commits Saturday between 4:30 and 5 from what we’ve gathered. An elite prospect that the Bulldogs want badly, Prothro will be making his decision between Georgia, Florida and Texas. Sources continue to tell Dawg Post that Georgia sits in a favorable position to land him. 6-foot-6 220-pounder is coming off a dominant junior season where he caught 56 passes for 1,203 yards and 22 touchdowns in 15 games. He’s ranked as the No. 2 TE and No. 29 overall prospect in the country. Texas is still a real player here, and Florida’s still in the mix, but this second we believe Georgia is the team to beat.
DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!
According to FanDuel, the Green Bay Packers have -112 odds of making the NFL Playoffs next season.
4-star RB Derrek Cooper is committing on July 20th now between Georgia, Texas, Miami, FSU and Ohio State. Sources say that Miami is still towards the top of his list but that Texas could be Georgia’s biggest competition behind the scenes. The Bulldogs sit in a good spot right now, but sources say this is a recruitment that could get interesting and possibly turn down the stretch. This is one to keep a close eye on as Georgia absolutely has a real shot at landing him.
4-star LB Nick Abrams II is committing on July 16th between Georgia, Oregon, Michigan and Alabama. Sources told Dawg Post on Thursday that this could could come down to Georgia and Oregon but Michigan is also firmly in the mix. The Bulldogs still want to take three linebackers and Abrams is someone they’ve been pushing hard for since the spring. As a junior last fall, Abrams made 77 tackles, nine TFLs, four sacks, and one INT along with one blocked punt. He’s ranked as the No. 14 LB and the No. 209 overall prospect in the country for the 2026 class.
5-star LB Tyler Atkinson is announcing "soon". However, it’s likely he’ll announce an exact date sometime soon with a commitment coming shortly after. The elite defender out of Grayson is down to Georgia, Clemson, Texas and Oregon. He’s been a major Bulldog target for four years now and Dawg Post still believes that Georgia is in the best position to land him. As a junior last fall, leading Grayson to a state championship, Atkinson made 166 tackles with 32 TFLs, 13 sacks, one INT, one forced fumble, and one blocked kick. He’s ranked as the No.1 LB and the No. 8 overall prospect in the country.
4-star DL Valdin Sone is also coming close to a commitment and Dawg Post expects that to happen before the end of the month. The native of Sweden who has made his way to American in hopes of making a career out of football, Sone is a quick, powerful interior lineman at 6-foot-4 320-pounds who took his official visit to Georgia the weekend of June 20th. The Bulldogs have six current defensive line commitments, but sources say the staff would make room for the big 6-foot-4 320-pounder if he wanted to jump on board. Sources say the Florida Gators may be in the best position to land him at the moment, but don’t count out the Dawgs here.
Another interior offensive lineman to keep an eye on is four-star Breck Kolojay. The Bulldogs already have two IMG Academy commits on board and they’re pushing for Kolojay to be the final offensive line commitment. Sources say this could come down to Georgia and Miami with a commitment likely to come before the football season in mid-August. The 6-foot-5 320-pound guard is ranked as the No. 307 overall prospect in the 2026 class.
