Now, I like that from Josh.... To win, "We have to be all in!!"

White emphasizes family atmosphere. Says he's ready to attack this challenge. We have to build. It's not going to happen overnight. He jumped at the opportunity. This is about an opportunity and a place he wants to be, not about where he's coming from. A lot of work to do. Such a hard league now. Night in and night out it's tough. The state of GA is as fertile a recruiting ground as any in the country, but we are going to recruit nationally, too. Wants to get around and see all the coaches in the state. Family went to the bookstore today and got geared up. LOL Hundreds of split-second decisions throughout the game make the difference. Focused on building a winning team and training our young men to be leaders. He said that just because we lost games last year does not mean we have a bad team. There's just a fine line between winning and losing. Anxious to get started - kind of doing film study backwards. (He means looking at our team as opposed to an opponent.)

I take some solace/optimism that in many games we led at the half or were close.

He knows exactly what he's gotten into. He's played against it for four years.

My glass half full says he sees squandered resources and incompetence - easier fixes than institutional barriers.

I absolutely cannot keep up with eligibility anymore, but assuming the grad transfer and seniors don't return, the current signees stick, and no one transfers out, he's got to sign three for next Fall. We desperately need a PG, PF, and probably best player available.

I do not know what kind of system he runs so I don't know if he favors guards, wing players (like Crean), a true 5, or whatever Whatever it is, we need better. Just better. All around.

Good observations. One thing I think White sees are the vast resources that are available at UGA. It's impossible to sit here today and figure out anything about our roster. of these guys have extra years; some will be asked to transfer; some will be asked to stay. I am positive we will sign more than 3 for the fall. He will dip into the portal for some players, too. White always seemed to have a good big man or two at UF, but he favors guard play IMO. His teams shoot a ton of 3s and work in transition. But he's not a coach that will just preach offense over defense. He knows you have to play on both ends.

There were three important things (in my estimation, and in order of importance) that he said during that conference:
1. Josh Brooks promised him the institutional commitment is there to win at Georgia.
2. "Recruiting" is the first word he used when talking about hiring staff.
3. We're going to recruit every high school in GA.

Honestly, he had to say all three, so it means almost nothing. But if those three things are true, he can win big here.

#1 has been beaten to death, and for good reason. It's not a question of whether or not the resources exist to win at Georgia. They do. The question is - whether they're being squandered or whether they're just not being allocated - can Mike White be the one (as Kirby Smart was) to show the AA the light?
