ATHENS - Kirby Smart and Mike Bobo hit the jackpot in the 2026 class with five-star quarterback Jared Curtis‍. Ranked as the No.1 quarterback prospect in the country, Curtis has plenty of size, elite arm talent, and the potential to be Georgia’s next great gunslinger.

Now, it’s up to the Georgia staff to find someone who wants to come in behind Curtis. It won’t be easy, but there are still several options out there.

Let’s take a look...

4-star Teddy Jarrard‍ (North Cobb, GA)

One of the hottest quarterback prospects in the country, Jarrard is an in-state passer that Dawg Post has written about multiple times already. His uncle is former Georgia quarterback Corey Phillips and Jarrard has plenty of arm talent himself. His recruitment has taken off this summer and the North Cobb (GA) passer earned an offer from the Bulldogs at the end of May. He’s since picked up offers from Michigan, Penn State, Notre Dame, Clemson, among others. The big 6-foot-3 195-pounder threw for an impressive 2,647 yards and 31 touchdowns last season for North Cobb Christian and has a chance to lead a talented North Cobb team to a possible state championship in 2025. Look for him to have a massive junior season for the Warriors and see a big rankings boost over time in the 2027 class. Right now, Jarrard is ranked as the No. 13 QB prospect and the No. 176 overall prospect in the 2027 class.

5-star Elijah Haven‍ (Dunham School, LA)

This one if a long-shot, but Haven did earn a Georgia offer this summer so he’s still one to know. Ranked as the No. 1 QB in the country for the 2027 class, Haven is a big, talented passer at 6-foot-4 205-pounds who could easily end up right down the road at LSU. He’s coming off a strong sophomore season where he threw for just under 2,000 yards and 27 touchdowns. He also made plays with his legs, rushing for 430 yards and 12 more touchdowns.

DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!

According to FanDuel, the Atlanta Falcons have +6500 odds to win the Super Bowl during the 2025 NFL season.

4-star Peyton Houston‍ (Evangelical Christian, LA)

A dynamic dual-threat quarterback coming off a monster sophomore season, Houston lit up the stat sheet last fall as he threw for 4,480 yards (5A state record) and 38 touchdowns for Evangelical Christian in Louisiana. He also ran for 690 yards and seven more scores.

Houston was in Athens on February 1st and told Dawg Post the Bulldogs made a big impression.

“The message I consistently heard from the coaches at Georgia is all about the standard and competition. The whole coaching staff is on board with the same goal: to get players to the next level and develop them. They achieve this through daily competition, both on and off the field, and by holding their players to a high standard.”

Houston is ranked as the No. 8 QB prospect and the No.78 overall prospect in the 2027 class.

4-star Kharim Hughley‍ (Gainesville, GA)

A local in-state quarterback with a strong arm and above-average athleticism, Hughley isn’t the biggest quarterback in his class, but he’s mobile, smart, accurate, and coming off a really strong sophomore season for the Gainesville Red Elephants in 2024. The 6-foot-0 190-pounder threw for 2,543 yards and 22 touchdowns with three more touchdowns on the ground. He holds an offer from the Dawgs and is someone Georgia fans need to keep an eye on in the 2027 class. He’s familiar with Athens and the Georgia program and sources say the Bulldogs should be firmly in the mix throughout his recruitment.

Hughley is ranked as the No. 13 QB prospect and the No.172 overall prospect in the country for his class.

3-star Jameson Purcell‍ (Maine South, IL)

An impressive quarterback from the Midwest, Purcell is a quarterback to know in the 2027 class who took a visit to Georgia to check out spring practice back on March 13th. As a sophomore last season, this 6-foot-3 195-pounder threw for 2,572 yards and 30 touchdowns, completing 70% of his passes. He’s ranked as the No. 27 QB prospect in the country for the 2027 class.

Ben Musser - Prince Avenue (GA)

An in-state quarterback on the rise bound for a giant junior season this fall, Musser doesn’t hold a Georgia offer right now but one down the road would not be surprising. The 6-foot-2 195-pounder from nearby Bogart, Georgia shows promising arm talent and the ability to take off with his legs. His numbers through the air aren’t jaw-dropping as he threw for 1,472 yards and 15 touchdowns, but those numbers should increase in a big way in 2025. On the ground, Musser ran for 768 yards and eight touchdowns. He’s a local quarterback to keep an eye on down the road.
