Really need to find a PG now.

I think this bus is just about fully in the ditch now.

And never a good look when player and coach are hurling Twitter shade at each other lol

KD played selfishly and wasn't a good fit for this team. You have to believe Crean is assembling a group of team oriented players that will be more suited to his style of play. Uh, no.....

This is bad, the season can't come and go fast enough. Wouldn't be surprised if KD is Cincy bound.

Yeah, we should have fired him. I am sure KD did something here but we are starting from ground zero now. The ball is fully running downhill. Crean is not building a program as much as he is filling out an intramural team. Right now, he is selling deck chairs on the Titanic. Where is Dennis Felton when you need him?

You shut your mouth

This kind of melt down is how we ended up with Felton, and not sure we have ever recovered.

We will find a PG, I have no doubt. People are acting like Garcia leaving is part of some broader narrative. Garcia was never coming back. His decision has nothing to do with the state of the program. He was a bench player. He played hard generally when he wasn't injured or in foul trouble. I like him, but he's not really what we need in the SEC. Good luck to him.

As for KD, losing him is a loss for sure, but I am certain there is more to this story. Crean alluded to something in his Twitter post about KD not living up to the expectations of an athlete at UGA. That sounds like a reference to grade issues. We had a hard time getting KD eligible in the first place. He missed a third of the season. I just think there is more to this than we know. KD was a hard-nosed defender with range, but ya gotta do your part by staying in school, or not doing whatever it is that got him off the team. Harder to replace him, but it's a shame we have to.

Oh, and let's not even bring up Felton. We would get bad karma just by mentioning him. After he took the job, he was a a UGA baseball game and they let people call in with questions. I called in with 5, and he gave bad answers to all of them. I knew he would fail. We stuck with him too long, only because of the tornado SEC championship win in 2008.

Just a few recent quotes from our resident Crean optimist...

"I like this roster so far and I don't think we're done."

"He's taking steps to make us better, and he's not through."

"Crean seems to be making chicken salad out of the chicken sh;+ decimation by the portal."

"One thing is sure - Crean will have a lot of options next season."

Whew, I don't know how you do it but fingers crossed.

It's not that difficult. But I do love seeing myself quoted....

I have no idea what will happen on the court next season. But I do hope Butts Mehre isn't sitting around doing their best Kevin Bacon "all is well" and instead will use the next 10 months to do their research to at least prepare for the possibility that a change in HC will be called for. We better have a clue, a plan , an idea in place long before March 2022.

Let's think about it. There are really only 2 possible scenarios. One, the team is not competitive and loses, after which Crean will be gone; we will have a new coach and a new direction. Two, the team wins and is competitive, after which Crean stays. I see it as a win/win. Look, if Crean was a bad as people think, would Coach Abdur-Rahim have let his nephew come to UGA? He coached with Crean for a year before becoming head coach at Kennesaw. He's a sharp guy. I think we will get maybe 2 more strong players from the portal and see how things shake out next year. Let's not get down on the team before we even see them play.

I agree with Monk...next year really is a win-win for UGA basketball. If Crean blows this year he will certainly be gone and hopefully get that mythical unicorn coach to turn this program around. Or if somehow Crean turns this thing around we will be in the big dance, something we haven't seen in a while.

The next two "strong players from the portal" that we get, will be the first two. Wheeler, KD and possibly Camara are ALL-SEC quality players all transferring out. There is no one transferring in with that kind of talent.

Ingram and his 12.4pts at FAU is probably the best and I'd put him behind Garcia and Kier level talent who came in averaging 13.5 and 14.5 at better basketball schools in better leagues. Is Baumann gonna blow up in the SEC after averaging 3pts in 11 min/game in the Pac12, Bridges with his unimpressive numbers at UIC from the Horizon? Ridgnal with nothing but low to mid offers? Abdur-Rahim hasn't played meaningful minutes in two years at UVA, does he transform into a 25 minutes a game double figure scorer in the SEC?

Crean took over a program which had one losing conference record in the six previous seasons and has gone 14-40. For Crean/Brooks to claim we are not an "outlier" is BS. That's exactly what we are and that's why SI & Vitale did the article.
