...about Crean and his Staff's ability to develop players. Brown (.973), Walton (.968), Wheeler (.957) & Camara (.956) were all high 4* players out of HS. These are generally can't miss kind of rankings for players. Add the two 3* guys Howard (.880) and Peake (.868)... 6 players signed and 6 players got the hell out of here. I've just never seen anything like that AND it ain't the portal's fault!!
This year we have three 3* commits with a bunch of mid-major offers. Are we really supposed to be excited we flipped someone from Iona? Then we have a GT guard from San Jose St who averaged 6.5pts, a GT center from UIC who averaged 9/5 and a GT from FAU who averaged 11. Oh wait didn't we get a UVA transfer? Yep, he played 8 games his RS Freshman year and shot 20% FGs and 14% on 3ptrs. That's 7 guys committed.... Anybody believe those 7 are better than the 7 of Brown, Walton, Wheeler, Camara, Peake, Howard and Fagan? Those 7 that left Crean/UGA would blow this incoming 7 off the court!!
Kentucky SF Cam'Ron Fletcher announced that he's transferring to FSU.
Former Vanderbilt guard Issac McBride will transfer to Oral Roberts, he told ESPN. The 6'1 freshman is one of the best shooters in the transfer portal. Should be a good fit in Paul Mills' up-tempo, 3-point heavy attack. Started his career at Kansas. Has four years of eligibility.

4 star players miss all the time. If after watching Brown and Walton for two years you think those guys are can't miss, then I don't know what to tell you. Wheeler and Camara are losses. I said as much. But neither are irreplaceable. Wheeler just went in the portal, so I don't think we have replaced him adequately yet. But we still might. Peake went to a tiny school, so no one else at a major school thought much of his game either. Howard ended up at Tech, who is looking everywhere for warm bodies. He got some minutes last season but he was certainly no great contributor. The only losses of any consequence are Wheeler and Camara. I don't like losing either, but we did. Time to move on. And there's no way any of us can say that who we lost would defeat who we are bringing in. We haven't seen the new guys play yet. Numbers don't tell the whole story. We can re-visit after we see the new guys perform a bit. And we still have 2 spots to fill.

With a couple of average players from Podunk Universities...
UIC & FAU and a couple of scrub castoffs from USC & UVA transferring in... I feel comfortable stepping way out on that limb and say we are definitely losing better players than we're picking up.
I live west of Georgia, so when I see what UA & AU are adding to their squads compared to us, it's glaring. Hell Andy Kennedy has picked up two SEC Starters for UAB in Jamal Johnson from AU & KJ Buffen from Ole Miss. UAB will have more talent than UGA this coming season.
