Ok, I did not see that coming. I'm not saying I thought we'd get embarrassed, but if you told me one team did get embarrassed, I would have assumed it was us. I suppose that's the mentality of a Georgia basketball fan.

I was incredibly impressed with the toughness showed in the post and on the boards. This team desperately needs size, yes, but right now, they are what they are, and they fought hard.

Camara is looking like a grown man.

Kier is looking like a legitimate scoring threat.

Fagan's effort leads to garbage points and run outs.

Wheeler ain't perfect, but he sure is fun to watch.

My expectations for this team in conference play are still tempered. They have to finish non-conference strong with a blowout Tuesday night.

I thought shot selection was much better on Saturday. Now, if Wheeler could take three turnovers per game and turn them into assists, baby, we got a stew going. The pace is a little too frenetic right now, but hey, we continue to struggle in the half court, so maybe it's just as well.

The important thing: I'm having fun watching right now. It's been a while since I could say that. Let's keep the good times rolling.

(and UK is 1-5 for the first time since 1926...if that doesn't make you smile, find a new hobby!)

The pace is frenetic and has been since minute one of game one this season. I have to deduce that Crean is willing to trade the turnovers for the pace and chaos it can cause. It is kind of the basketball equivalent of "man ball" - we're going to run, run and run some more in the hopes of just grinding your ass up. Teams with less depth and athleticism are going to be challenged.

I had Cincinnati circled as our first true test. A+. I missed the game but fell over reading Kier's stat line. He in my eyes had looked like a good mid major player to date.

I'm not willing to put us in the NCAA tourney just yet but I don't see this team finishing second to last in conference either. With a 7-0 non conf record I'd like to believe .500 in SEC play would do it, and be a HUGE step forward for Crean.

Here's to blind optimism lol
