Thought you might have a list of who is going to redshirt after this season?
I know White is and Just a few I came across that I assumed were, because they only played in a couple of games were Owen Condon, Tommy Bush, I think Ameer Speed only played in one or two, but he's a sophomore. Wasn't sure that 4 game thing applied to upper classmen? David Marshall and Robert Beal were injured, wasn't sure about them? Erickson and Shaffer played some on the OL, but wasn't sure how many. Anyway, since you are the walking reservoir of info around here, thought you could enlighten me?

Freshman TE John FitzPatrick - played in 2 games this season
Freshman WR Kearis Jackson - played in 4 games this season (slowed by a hamstring injury during the preseason)

Noticed there are a ton of ACL tears in football these days... My question is this... Is the repair of the injured ACL tear, better, after surgery... I sure hope it is for Zeus's sake...

Yeah, I didn't realize we had so many knee injuries. But here's hoping they all get well and back to form. With Erickson and Condon the only OL to RS, I guess that speaks volumes about the talent ol Kirb is recruiting in the trenches these days.

Technically the torn ACL isn't repaired (e.g., stitching it back together), but reconstructed using a tendon extracted from a cadaver (empirically worse) or repurposed from one's patella, hamstring, etc. Since surgeons lack the same proficiency, some players (e.g., RB Phillip Lindsey) require multiple ACL reconstructive surgeries. Approximately 90% of athletes are able to return to sports following ACL surgery. Proper strength and conditioning exercises (e.g., full range of motion squats to develop the VMO) are critical to ensuring knees are able to absorb considerable forces. Unfortunately, many S&C coaches aren't fully qualified MSCCs, thus their athletes aren't properly trained and are at greater risk of injury.

Btw, 2019 4* ILB Rian Davis and 4* TE Ryland Goede each tore an ACL this fall. Fortunately, these UGA signees are early enrolling next month and will rehab w/ Ron Courson, UGA Senior Associate Athletics Director - Sports Medicine.

Thanks AFD... It looks like the Strength and Conditioning is very critical after knee surgery of any kind... Looking at Chubb and Gurley over the few years... I would say they definitely had a successful surgery... Like i stated earlier... I hope and pray for Zeus to return to his normal self after 2 ACL tears...
