So, part of me says we should be sweating. Locke is on fire and their OL looks fairly formidable. But on the other hand, they just surrendered close to 600 passing yards and barely escaped with a win over an 0-3 Purdue team. So, Fromm and Fields should have a field day, right?

I dunno, something still worries me about this game. Some of you dp experts put my fears to rest here.

I am concerned for sure, but still think we win by a couple scores-like my post about point spread, Vegas seems to like us and I read somewhere we have not lost a game we have been favored by double digits on the road since Jim Donnan days.

Simply put, both teams have very explosive and good offenses but I think UGA has the much better defense, as such, I see something like 42-28 type final.

I am always concerned about hot-passing teams. Georgia has to be able to generate a pass rush.
I have not seen Missouri play at all this year so I don't know what their run defense looks like.

Didn't Georgia have about 700 yds of offense last year against them?

I watched a LOT of the Purdue-Mizzou game last weekend. Purdue didn't run for that many yards but threw it for nearly 600 yards, they had guys WIDE OPEN all night long and their talent is not nearly the level of our talent. There was a really controversial reversal of a TD in that game, Mizzou would have had to score a TD to win late instead of kick the FG, they called it TD on the field, there was NOT enough evidence to change the call to incomplete but yet the refs did, Purdue kicked the game tying FG instead. Mizzou went right down the field and kicked the game winner as time expired.

Total yards in the game-Missouri 376 passing 224 rushing=600 total yards. Purdue 571 passing, 36 rushing=607 total yards. Both teams threw one INT, so turnovers were even. Purdue was penalized 7 times compared to 3x for Mizzou, and of course the reversal call was HUGE in the game.

Wyoming only had 248 total yards on them, Missouri had 601, Tenn-Martin had 277 total yards and Missouri had 553. Rushing wise, no team has gone over 100 yards, Tenn-Martin had the most rushing yards at 94.

The best way to slow down a hot passing game is to control the football and run the clock... Missouri hasn't faced a massive offensive line like ours yet... I think Chaney will run the football as much as possible to burn up Missouri's time on the field... Meanwhile, Fromm will be lighting up the Missouri secondary on certain plays to make this a runaway... Dawgs should blow Missouri off the field... 52-17...

Factor, I agree, I think we will try to control the clock and also prevent Mizzou from making the big play-figuring we can make a stop if we make them slowly work their way down the field-they were in the game last year simply because they hit two bombs on us. It was 34-21 at the half, two of those TD's were 63 yard TD's. Second half, they scored once in the 4th quarter on a 27 yard pass, but by then the score was 47-21, they scored and we scored once again and final was 53-28.

If you look at the stats from last year, we had over 700 yards until we took a knee at the end of the game, finished with 696. They had 312, not only did we run all over them, with 370 rushing yards, Fromm had a HUGE game throwing for 326 and 3 TD's, he actually out performed Lock when it comes to yardage, Lock had one more TD pass.

Simply put, our offense is probably BETTER than last year, and look at what we did. They will be playing at home, and they are capable of scoring some points but if we play UGA football, the game will at least be 10-14 points, maybe more. Just hard to know how our D will be but Lock has scored 26 and 28 against us the past two years, I suspect he will be right around there again this year but I think our offense goes over 40 yet again.

I'm always worried. I think the game could be a shoot out.

Over/under like 75 or so.

We should not be worried about this game other than the team just becoming completely unglued and making mistake after mistake. Now yes it's possible that could happen, but it's highly unlikely. For some reason people seem to forget that we beat them by nearly 4 touchdowns last year. Missouri got lucky on a couple shots that they HAD to take last year. Big whoop. We did come out flat, but keep in mind it was very much a trap game. It was after 3 big SEC games - Miss St (who was hyped to the hilt), Tennessee (who we weren't sure how horrible they were going to be plus it was Fromm's first "SEC road test"), and Vandy (who was on the revenge tour) - and before Florida. We woke up in the 2nd half and made them look like a middle school team.

This is not a trap game and the team is sick and tired of hearing how "close" it was last year. Forgetaboutit. This is gonna be a mismatch from the get go. I'll bet dollars to donuts three quarters of this game will look like the 2nd half last year, and then we mop it up from there. Lay the points and crack open a cold one.
