ATHENS, Ga. A road tilt at defending NCAA national champion Baylor, 10 home games and a Thanksgiving trip to the Daytona Beach Invitational highlight the Georgia Lady Bulldog basketball team's upcoming non-conference schedule, head coach Joni Taylor announced on Friday.

Georgia will face a challenging slate that features seven matchups against teams that advanced to postseason play last year.

The Lady Bulldogs will host several marquee games inside Stegeman Coliseum, including the Dec. 19 contest against UCLA a team that advanced to the 2019 NCAA Sweet 16. Georgia will also host in-state foes Georgia Tech (Nov. 17) and Mercer (Nov. 21), before welcoming Villanova (Nov. 24).

"One of the things we really like about this year's non-conference schedule is that it features 10 home games and great matchups right here at Stegeman Coliseum," Taylor said. "It creates a tremendous opportunity for our fans to come watch us play against outstanding competition before the SEC slate tips off in January. We will also play in a very tough road environment at Baylor, last year's national champion and a team that will once against compete for a national title this year. So, we are excited to get started, and I am pleased with the progress our team continues to make in the offseason."

The 2019-20 season officially begins on Thursday, Nov. 7 against Kennesaw State. Georgia then has nearly a week off before hosting 2019 WNIT participant North Carolina A&T on Nov. 13. The Lady Bulldogs then face back-to-back in-state opponents when Georgia Tech and Mercer come to town.

Georgia winds down the month of November with home games against Villanova and USC Upstate before traveling to the Daytona Beach Invitational. The Lady Bulldogs will face Butler on Friday, Nov. 29, before playing Virginia Tech on Saturday, Nov. 30.

Following a trip to Waco, Texas, to take on Baylor, Georgia returns home to play four-straight home games to cap the non-conference schedule.
