Georgia Recruiting Notes: A Look At Georgia's 2027 Inside Linebacker Class

ATHENS - After signing a trio of linebackers in last year’s 2026 class, Glenn Schumann already has two on board in the current 2027 cycle.
Four-star Joakim Gouda and three-star Temorris Campbell make up Georgia’s linebacker duo and they could be only two the Bulldogs sign in this current class.
In case you missed it last month, Gouda, a tackling machine at McEachern (GA), was a silent commitment throughout the spring before publicly committing to Georgia over Florida, Auburn, Tennessee after his official visit on June 1st.
On tape, it’s easy to see why Gouda is one of the best linebackers across the South. Ranked as the No. 16 LB prospect in the country, Gouda is one of the hardest-hitting defenders in Georgia at 6-foot-1 and 230-pounds. He brings natural instincts, a muscular frame, and tackled everything in sight for South Paulding (GA) last fall as a junior.
Gouda can fight in the trenches, make plays in space, and can attack the quarterback in the backfield. He shows strong closing speed when chasing down the ball-carrier and knows how to leave a bruise when delivering a sound, physical tackle. He flashes easy SEC-caliber talent and filled up the stat sheet last fall with 100 total tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble.

Then there’s Campbell, a productive South Florida defender that won the staff over this spring during an on-campus camp performance. Campbell earned an offer from Georgia and committed just two days later on May 13th.
At 6-foot-1 215-pounds, Campbell is an aggressive defender with a nose for the football. He’s dependable in what he does, doing his job correctly and consistently putting himself around the play. He’s a stout run defender with above-average speed who made play after play last fall as a junior.
At Chaminade-Madonna (FL) last season, Campbell was a tackling machine making 103 total stops with 10 TFLs and 3.5 sacks to go along with one INT, one forced fumble and another fumble recovery.
One of Georgia’s lowest-ranked commitments at the moment, Campbell is ranked as the No. 90 LB and the No. 970 overall prospect in the country for the 2027 class.
