ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs add another in-state commitment in the 2027 class.
Former Clemson commitment and Atlanta native Seth Williams, a four-star safety at Lakeside (GA), has committed to the Georgia today over Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers.

A newer Bulldog target who earned an offer in May, Williams is a lean 6-foot-3 190-pound defensive back who also earned offers this spring from Texas Tech, Ohio State, Michigan, among others.
“It was an amazing feeling to get a Georgia offer,” Williams told Dawg Post. “I finally reached one of the toughest milestones in my life. I’m a Georgia boy so I study who comes in and out between players and coaches over there. I have a relationship with some players already on the team. It’s just like family.”

What will Williams bring to Athens?
Size, instincts, and potential.
A smooth athlete overall with sticky hands, Williams consistently found his way to the ball throughout his junior season in 2025. He brings a lengthy frame that allows him to make plays in coverage, but he’s also a sound defender against the run, showing above-average closing speed with correct technique when bringing down the ball-carrier.
Williams is also a sure-handed pass-catcher for the Vikings on offense while bringing a playmaking skill-set on defense. He shows strong hands, can read the quarterback in coverage, and has enough size to play closer to the box and help against the run.
Williams made 73 tackles as a junior last season with five TFLs, two INTs, one forced fumble, and five more pass-breakups in coverage. He becomes Georgia’s second defensive back commitment in the 2027 class, joining four-star safety Adryan Cole.
Williams is ranked as the No. 35 safety prospect in the country for the 2027 class.
