ATHENS - It seems like Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs hit a home run with freshman wide receiver Craig Dandridge.
The Bulldogs offered the promising in-state wideout in January of 2025 and quickly climbed his list of schools, landing his commitment six months later in June. The speedy, sure-handed wideout from Alpharetta got to Athens ready to work, and his working is paying off.
The 6-foot-1 185-pounder got some playing time with the first-team unit over the weekend in his very first college game. He showed twitch, quickness, and strong hands, securing a ball low to the ground on an impressive 20-yard reception. He ended the day with two catches for 36 yards.

According to FanDuel, the San Antonio Spurs have +280 odds to win the NBA Finals next summer.
The impressive wideout also made plays in the return game, returning one punt for 30 yards. The Bulldogs are looking for more explosive receivers and Dandridge delivered in his Georgia debut.

“Yeah he missed a window of camp, probably four to five days,” Smart told reporters on Saturday. “That really stunted his growth. But his growth was on a high trajectory and it continues to be.”
“He's smart”, Smart added. “He can play multiple positions. He has a little bit of something that we don't have in that room with his acceleration and his ability to get open quickly. He's very intelligent. He's very conscientious. He's tough. He's what you want in a wideout. He's been a pleasant surprise that has to continue to get better as the competition goes up.”
Dandridge was one of many wideouts who stood out in the season opener. Sophomore Tayln Taylor caught three passes for 28 yards and a touchdown. Veteran Sacovie White-Helton caught three passes for 34 yards. Sophomore Tyler Williams brought down arguably the best catch of the game, snatching a 27-yard pass in tight coverage.
As for Dandridge, the talent was easy to see on Saturday afternoon. Look for more passes to come his way this weekend against Western Kentucky.
