ATHENS - Georgia Bulldog wide receiver Colbie Young is off to the NFL.
After rocky two-year career where he dealt with a suspension in year one and battled through an injury in year two, the big 6-foot-5 220-pounder was selected today by the Cincinatti Bengals with the No. 140 overall pick in the 4th round.
Young transferred to Georgia from Miami before the 2024 season and made an immidiate impact, catching a touchdown pass in his very first game against Clemson. A suspension soon after held him back as he caught just 11 passes that year for 149 yards and two touchdowns. While he may not have seen much of the field that season, his talent and measurables were easy to notice.
In 2025, Young was a dependable option for Gunner Stockton until an injury against Ole Miss in October set him back until the Sugar Bowl. Still, when he was out there, he looked like an easy NFL-caliber prospect. He can stretch the field vertically while also proving to be a weapon in the screen game. He’s a mismatch down the field and tough to tackle once he has the ball in his hands. While his injury cost him most of the 2025 season, Young still managed to catch 26 passes for 358 yards and one touchdown.
It may not have been the career he was hoping for, but Young still managed to make an impact. He came to Georgia with NFL potential, and now his dreams are coming true.
