Former Georgia Bulldog tight end Oscar Delp was selected No. 73 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft by the Saints.

Delp was one of the only four-year players for Kirby Smart’s younger squad in 2025. He left Georgia as a three-time SEC Champion and a national champion. There are very few football players that have been part of bringing home that level of hardware.

The Forsyth County native played a reserve role as a true freshman, but stepped up in the College Football Playoff semi-final for an injured Darnell Washington against Ohio State in 2022. He played alongside Brock Bowers again in 2023 before emerging as the starting tight end for Georgia as a junior and senior.

In a Georgia offense that spread the ball around a lot in his four years, Delp’s most productive seasons were in 2023 and 2024. He had 284 yards and three touchdowns as a sophomore. As a junior, he accrued 248 yards and found the endzone four times.

His production took a dip across the board as a senior. Georgia ran the ball more and the Dawgs’ other starting tight end Lawson Luckie saw similar production to him over the course of the season.

Delp got better and better as a blocker, which really helped his draft stock despite limited production. He also possesses above-average athleticism for the position. Reporters at Georgia’s pro day clocked him in the 4.5-second range in the 40-yard dash. Delp often showed off his athleticism by trying to hurdle oncoming defenders - something he had mild success doing.

Delp’s best game of his Georgia career came at night in Sanford Stadium in 2024. He caught four passes for 56 yards and two scores in a top-12 matchup against the Tennessee Volunteers on a cold night in November.

The 6’5” athlete will now look to be even more productive at the next level, where he is tabbed as a tight end with nice upside due to his improved blocking, big frame and athleticism.
