ATHENS - The stars have been shining bright in Athens this week.
As the Georgia Bulldogs continue to battle through spring practice, top prospects from across the country have made their way to the Classic City for a spring visit.
However, one of the biggest prospects in town on Thursday didn’t have to cross state lines. Ranked as the No. 1 player in Georgia for the 2028 class, McEachern (GA) standout Casey Barner was back in Athens to meet with the staff and get a look at the 2026 Bulldogs.
Barner told Dawg Post that he was able to build on his relationship with safeties coach Travaris Robinson and understand their plan for him.

According to FanDuel, the Buffalo Bills have +490 odds of winning the AFC Champoionship next year.
“My conversation with Coach Robinson was really good”, Barner told Dawg Post. “He was just keeping it real with me, talking about how I’d fit into their system and what they expect from their guys on and off the field. I like how detailed he was and how much he emphasized development and discipline.”
“What impressed me most about their spring practice was the intensity and how organized everything was. Everybody was moving with purpose and the energy was high the whole time. You could tell the standard is set really high, and the players are being coached hard every rep.”
Barner is ranked as a top-15 prospect in the country for his class for a reason. He’s a natural playmaker who can make a big impact in all three phases of the game. Not only is he a dynamic safety who can stop the run and make plays in coverage, but he’s also a weapon on special teams who helped McEachern at running back, too. He’s a gifted football player with toughness, instincts, and consistent big-play ability.
There’s a long way to go, but after another successful visit, look for the Bulldogs to stay firmly in the mix for one of the best players in the country for the foreseeable future.
