ATHENS - Kirby Smart and James Coley have a situation on their hands.

After winning big in the transfer portal last season with wide receiver Zachariah Branch, the Georgia Bulldogs now have to replace last season’s leading receiver.

It won’t be easy, but it has to be done. However, there are many promising pass-catchers on the rise who are looking to fill that void.

One option is Sacovie White-Helton. A speedy, sure-handed wideout who can also make plays on special teams, White is in his third year with the program and looking to make a big impact this fall.

Bulldog coach Kirby Smart had a lot to say about his fast-rising receiver this week.

"Competitor, he's tough, hard-nosed, works, just loves the game”, Smart said this week. “He's a joy to be around, he has a smile on his face every day. He's just a great human being, Christian young man that I enjoy being around. Excited to see what he can do."

DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!

According to FanDuel, the Michigan Wolverines have +750 odds to win the national championship next year.

Not only is he talented, but the former Cass High School standout has a great head on his shoulders, too. He loves the game, loves to compete, and knows how to make plays when given an opportunity.

"The joy of the game comes from watching him on special teams”, Smart told reporters. “He's come to me several times and requested to be more of a value and an asset on special teams. He wants to do other things besides just return the ball. He always has a question. He's inquisitive about, 'What do I do if this happens? Or, Coach, how did you see that? Should I have done this?' He's very intelligent, he loves the game, and he's just always smiling."

White’s versatility should allow him to see the field plenty this fall. Not only do the Dawgs need a dependable slot option, but they also need someone to help both in the screen game and in the return game. White’s skill-set is comparable to Branch’s, and the Bulldogs need him to step up in a big way in 2026.

Insiders are raving about White-Helton’s strong hands and the ability to pick up yards after the catch. He did play some last season, catching eight passes for 70 yards, but those numbers should sky-rocket next season.
