ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Dawgs have kicked off spring practice and many top recruits are fleeing to Athens to get their first look at the 2026 Georgia Bulldogs.
On Tuesday, the big visitors were QB Davin Davidson and WR Amare Patterson. Davidson, ranked as the No. 12 QB prospect in the country out of Cardinal Mooney (FL), stayed overnight and spent time on campus Wednesday morning as well. Patterson, a four-star from South Carolina, continues to be a priority target for James Coley and the offensive staff.
While all eyes are currently focused on the 2027 class, several young 2028 prospects were also in town and broke down their visit with Dawg Post.
One 2028 target who was back in Athens was Georgia native, Chase Foster. Foster currently plays at IMG Academy (FL) but is from metro-Atlanta and played at Dutchtown (GA) before heading down to Florida. One of the top pass-rushers and EDGE defenders across the South in the 2028 class, the 6-foot-4 260-pounder was back in Athens this week and had a lot to say about his visit.
“The biggest takeaway was seeing how the coaches focus on hard work for every play. What stood out the most about Coach Scott was his approach with his players and how well they received it. Their practice was extremely fast-paced. There’s no walking on the field. They made sure that they set those expectations before everyone got on the field.
Foster is currently ranked as the No. 13 DL and the No. 131 overall prospect in the country for the 2028 class.

According to FanDuel, the Arizona Wildcats have +400 odds of winning the national championship this year.
Down in Worth County (GA) is where you’ll find a fast-rising pass-rusher who earned a Georgia offer during a visit on Tuesday. That would be promising EDGE defender Malik Muhammad.
The long, athletic outside linebacker has seen his recruitment take off over the last three months and finally picked up an offer from the mighty Bulldogs this week.
“The reaction from me was pretty chill”, Muhammad told Dawg Post. “What I know most about the program is that you’re going to get pushed to your max level every day and every you get it will be earned. I definitely feel like I’m one that he is trying to build a relationship with and grow with.”
As a junior last season, the 6-foot-4 215-pounder made 71 tackles, four sacks, three forced fumbles, and broke up four passes in coverage.
Another 2028 in-state defender in town was Carrollton (GA) linebacker, Kamari Butler. The former Kennesaw Mountain (GA) star was one of the state’s most productive sophomores last season as he tackled everything in sight. The talented 6-foot-3 225-pounder already holds a Georgia offer and enjoyed his latest visit to the Classic City.
“Coach Schumann is serious about the game of football and the standard at Georgia”, Butler said. “He wants to develop and bring out the best in his players.”
As a sophomore in 2025, Butler made 159 tackles, 11 TFLs, four sacks and two forced fumbles.
