ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have just landed a commitment from one of the top defensive backs in Texas.
Four-star cornerback, Jerry Outhouse Jr..
At 6-foot-1 180-pounds, Outhouse is a fundamentally-sound cornerback with quick feet, natural instincts, and a lengthy frame. He’s ranked as the No. 5 DB prospect in Texas and committed to the Bulldogs tonight over Texas Tech, Florida, UCLA, and Arizona State.
On film, it’s easy to see why the Georgia staff pushed hard for his commitment. Not only does he bring the required size and length that the staff is looking for, but he also brings a physical aspect against the run. He plays fast, reacts quickly, and knows how to shed blocks on his way to chasing down the ball-carrier. He’s a sure-tackle in the open field who plays the screen game well on the perimeter.
All in all, there’s a lot to like about the way Outhouse Jr. plays. He competes against quality receivers on a weekly basis and consistently held his own in coverage last year. He’s fast enough to challenge receivers vertically and plays like a receiver when attacking the ball in the air. He’s a sure-handed defender who can cover, tackle, and already looks like a Power Four defensive back.
He’s one of the best in Texas for a reason, but now, the Fort Worth native has committed to play for the Bulldogs in Athens.
As a junior last season Outhouse Jr. made 44 tackles six INTs (one returned for a touchdown), 13 pass-breakups, and one forced fumble.
He’s currently ranked as the No. 20 CB and the No. 172 overall prospect in the 2027 class.
