ATHENS - The recruiting dead period has ended and the month of March should be a big one for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs.
Recruits are taking visits and the Georgia staff will continue to update and edit their recruiting board for the 2027 and 2028 classes.
One promising linebacker who earned a Georgia offer during a visit on Monday was three-star Skylar Alston. The 6-foot-2 215-pounder from Cardinal Gibbons (NC) was a tackling machine last season who is seeing his recruitment pick up with recent offers from Georgia, Missouri, Oregon and Purdue.
Here’s what Alston had to say about his new Bulldog offer:
“Receiving an offer from Georgia is a huge blessing”, Alston told Dawg Post. “It was nice to tour the facility but my favorite part was spending time with Coach Schumann. My first impression of him is that he is very knowledgeable and an intentional coach. He’s someone that I can really learn from and someone that can help me grow and develop. I plan to get back on campus during my spring break in early April.”
The speedy, hard-hitting defender plays fast, shows great instincts, and knows how to wrap up properly to make a fundamentally-sound tackle in the open field. He lived in the backfield last year and ended his sophomore season with an eye-opening 146 tackles, 45 TFLs, six sacks, one INT, 10 pass-breakups, and three forced fumbles.

According to FanDuel, Indiana Hoosiers QB Fernando Mendoza has -20000 odds to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Another 2028 prospect on the rise who earned a Bulldog offer this was is playmaking safety, Jalen Flowers.
Ranked as the No. 7 prospect in California for his class, Flowers is a dynamic, do-it-all athlete who consistently made big plays on both sides of the ball last year. As a sophomore, Flowers was a ball-hawk picking off passes with ease while being a major contributor on offense as a receiver.
The 6-foot-1 165-pounder out of Palos Verdes (CA) made 51 tackles on defense last season with five INTs, four TFLs and six pass-breakups. On offense, the sure-handed wideout accounted for 791 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.
