ATHENS - Kirby Smart and Mike Bobo are still on the hunt for a 2027 quarterback and one of the nation’s best was in Athens for a big unofficial visit on Monday.

Four-star quarterback, Peter Bourque‍. Ranked as the No. 7 QB prospect and the No. 91 overall prospect in the country, Bourque is a physically-gifted 6-foot4 195-pound passer out of Tabor Academy (MA) who was once committed to the Michigan Wolverines.

Bourue earned an offer from the Bulldogs in the summer of 2025 and has always thought highly of reigning SEC Champions.

“The Georgia offer was huge as UGA and Coach Smart have set the standard for college football the past few years”, Bourque told Dawg Post last July.
”I am someone who wants to compete at the highest level and play in the biggest games. Georgia will always be doing just that.”

Bourque committed to Michigan in August of 2025 and de-committed recently on February 17th

Now, sources say the Bulldogs made a significant step forward in Bourque’s recruitment after a successful visit to Athens this week. Here’s what Bourque had to say about it...

“It was a great visit to UGA”, Borque told Dawg Post. “It is place that ties in everything athletes should look for in a program. Win and compete at the highest level, development, culture and a great staff with stability. UGA is also a top tier academic school which is very important to me.”

As a junior last season, leading his team to a state championship, Borque was 131/207 (63.5%) for 2,241 yards and 33 touchdowns. He also ran the ball 80 times for 688 yards.

When you turn on the tape it’s easy to see why he’s ranked as a top-10 quarterback prospect. He’s a physical runner and a natural passer, allowing him to make plays in a lot of different ways.

As a passer, Bourque has the ability to flick the ball down the field accurately. He puts nice touch on the ball when throwing vertically with a poised, calm presence in the pocket. He’s a major weapon in short-yardage situations on the ground and an effective passer on the run due to his mobility and ability to throw from different arm angles.
