ATHENS - Recruiting season is rolling right along for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs.
Kirby Smart was in Atlanta on Tuesday checking in on some top prospects in the city. He stopped by Creekside, Langston Hughes, Columbia, Southwest Dekalb, among others.
Other Georgia staff members were out across the country looking for more up-and-coming prospects to put on their recruiting board.
Here are several in-state prospects who recently earned an offer from Georgia...
A new 2027 wide receiver to know is Mount Vernon (GA) wideout, Taurean Rawlins. The 6-foot-0 175-pounder from Sandy Springs is coached by former Bulldog receiver Terrence Edwards and earned a Bulldog offer this week after a visit from Georgia receivers coach James Coley.
“My reaction when I got the offer was just pure excitement. It felt unreal. Me and Coach Coley had a great in person conversation leading up to the offer. I know that UGA football is a very promising and strong program and has an amazing community. It is also a very supportive and passionate fanbase.”
As a junior last year, the sure-handed wideout caught 56 passes for 1,134 yards and 13 touchdowns. He’s one of the top 2027 receivers in metro-Atlanta who should see more offers come his way very soon.
DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!
According to FanDuel, the Los Angeles Rams have +210 odds of winning the Super Bowl this season.
A Cobb County EDGE defender to know moving forward is Marietta (GA) standout Merrick Ham. Just a sophomore last season, Ham was tough to block all season long due to his 6-foot-6 230-pound frame and natural athleticism. The multi-sport standout is a promising pass-rusher who stood out all season long in 2025. He already looks like a D1-caliber player and should see his recruitment really take off after earning an offer from the Dawgs.
“When I got the UGA offer I didn’t even know what to say. Obviously I called my parents first thing but then my grandparents who are huge Georgia fans. I know that Georgia football is held to a higher standard than the rest of the country and it shows on the field with the dominance across recent years.”
Ham made 40 tackles, 14 TFLs and seven sacks. He also pressured the QB 13 more times while forcing three fumbles and blocking one kick.
A small-town athlete in the 2028 class to have a close eye on in Toombs County (GA) athlete Nick Carroll. A do-it-all prospect who shined at both wide receiver and in the secondary this season, Carroll was constantly one of the best overall players on the field. He already has an extended offer list and has a chance to be one of the very best prospects in Georgia for his class. Now, he holds an offer from the in-state Bulldogs.
“I was very surprised and shocked when I got the offer. I know UGA is a winning program and a great program.”
Carroll caught 46 passes for 722 yards and seven touchdowns. Defensively, Carroll made 42 tackles and an eye-opening seven INTs. He’s a playmaking machine and a complete ball magnet who made play after play all year long. Look for him to be even better as a junior in 2026.
