ATHENS - It’s that time of the year. Kirby Smart and his Georgia Bulldog staff have hit to road to check in on some top targets across the state of Georgia.
Here are some notes on where the Georgia staff was today...
Kirby Smart was in Macon on Thursday at Howard High School to check on playmaking 2027 safety Ta'Shawn Poole. The 6-foot-0 185-pounder is one of the top defensive back prospects in the state for his class and is coming off a strong junior season for the Huskies. Ranked as the No. 6 safety prospect and the No. 67 overall prospect in the country, Poole confirmed with Dawg Post that he’ll be in Athens for a big visit the weekend of January 30th.

According to FanDuel, the Denver Broncos have +750 odds to win the Super Bowl next month.
While in Middle Georgia, Smart made sure to stop by Houston County to check on the Bears. The Dawgs singed four-star safety Jordan Smith in the 2026 class out of Houston County and the Bears have 2027 OT Braylin Mills next up. The giant 6-foot-7 340-pounder is one to keep an eye on over the next several months.
Smart also made a stop by Locust Grove to check on big offensive tackle target Timi Aliu. The big 6-foot-4 295-pounder is ranked as the No. 17 OT prospect and the No. 184 overall prospect in the 2027 class. The Dawgs have no problem loading up on in-state offensive linemen and that could be the case again in the 2027 class.
