ATHENS - It’s recruiting season in Athens.
After signing an excellent 2026 class, Kirby Smart and his staff will have several major targets in town this weekend.
One of them is local running back target Andrew Beard II. The dynamic nearby back at Prince Avenue Christian (GA) is a shifty, explosive runner who lit up the stat sheet last year as a junior, rushing for 1,292 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also hit the 100-yard mark in six games and averaged 7.8 yards per carry. The 5-foot-9 190-pounder also caught 31 passes for 450 yards and five touchdowns during his giant 2025 season. He’s ranked as the No. 6 RB prospect and the No. 87 overall prospect in the country.
“I’ll be at UGA this weekend then Tennessee on the 24th, Indiana on the 31st and then Clemson on March 7. I know how family oriented UGA is. Off the field everybody is just so close not only on the coaching staff but everybody in the building their pitch to me is staying close to home. I stay about 15 minutes from Athens and being able to stay close to family would be amazing.”

He’s currently Georgia’s only running back commitment after signing just on in the last cycle in Colquitt County’s Jae Lamar.
Parker ran for 1,303 yards last season as a junior with 19 touchdowns. He ran for at least 100 yards in eight games and averaged 118 yards per game.
