ATHENS - A bus carrying UGA Football support staff was involved in a minor traffic incident Friday, the school said this afternoon.
The incident took place of Georgia 316 on the way to UGA football’s 130th meeting with Auburn in the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry. In a statement, UGA said that “no staff sustained any injuries.”
Georgia and Auburn will kickoff after 7:30 PM from Jordan-Hare Stadium. The Bulldogs are considered slight favorites to win the contest. UGA support staff typically travels to games before the players and coaches. It is not abnormal for support staff to travel to games a day or even two days before the game is played.
Here is the full statement from UGA:
“A bus carrying UGA support staff to Auburn was involved in a minor traffic incident today. No staff sustained any injuries. We are thankful for the quick response of local law enforcement and emergency personnel.”
