INSIDER: Top In-State Prospects Earn Big UGA Football Offer
Act now and get three months of Dawg Post for the price of one
ATHENS - After a big recruiting weekend for Kirby Smart and UGA Football, the Dawgs hosted plenty of in-state prospects on campus Sunday night and into Monday to work out for the staff.
As expected, several fast-rising prospects left Athens with an offer.
Here’s who they are...
RB Jakeyveon Parker - Macon County
One of the top running backs across Middle Georgia, Parker is a slippery back with good size at 5-foot-10 200-pounds who consistently ran through defenders last season as a sophomore. He’s a tough, physical back who can be difficult to corall in the open field. He’s coming off a big sophomore season where he ran for 939 yards and 15 touchdowns. He ran for at least 80 yards in six games last year while hitting the 100-yard mark three times. He’s bound for a giant junior season and now holds an offer from the in-state Bulldogs.
“I was like WOW man,” Parker told Dawg Post. “Just to have an opportunity at this great place it means a lot! I know they produce players and have the most players drafted in the nation to go play pro football. I love the culture there, too. If you are not willing to put in work day in and day out Georgia is not the fit. They push the players to the limit to be GREAT!”
WR Sean Green - Camden County
A shifty wideout with impressive breakaway speed, Green won over the Georgia staff during a recent workout and left town with a big offer. He’s one of the top 2027 receivers in the state and is coming off a strong 2024 season where he caught 48 passes for 584 yards and five touchdowns. He shows quick feet, excellent burst, and strong handsdown the field. He’s dangerous in the open field and has a chance to be one of the most productive receivers in Georgia later this fall.
“When I got the offer I was super excited, hyped, and energetic!!” Green told Dawg Post “I know the history of Georgia just by growing up around it. All the rings and all the draft picks. I also know about the recruiting dominance. They don’t just throw an offer out. They make sure they go see that kid play and get them right!”
DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!
According to FanDuel, the Atlanta Falcons are 1.5-point underdogs to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week one of the 2025 regular season.
OL Jaiden Thompson - Rockmart
A big, powerful lineman who excelled on both sides of the ball last season, Thompson was a stout run defender at defensive tackle and a pancake machine on offense. He brings a promising 6-foot-5 290-pound frame with outstanding length, above-average athleticism, and sky-high potential. He played like a bully as a sophomore last season and is quickly becoming one of the top overall 2027 prospects in North Georgia. If he continues to develop his technique Thompson has a chance to continue reeling in major offers this summer. The 2027 class in Georgia is loaded with talented offensive linemen and Thompson could be among the best if he continues the path he’s on.
EDGE Luke Nabors - Buford
A fast-rising EDGE defender with promising length and natural big-play ability, Nabors earned his Georgia offer after a big camp performance and could see his recruitment blow up more and more over the next several weeks. He shows explosiveness off the snap and has a chance to make a big impact for the mighty Buford Wolves next year as a sophomore. He dominated at the junior varsity level last year but is expected to be a big contributor next season. He’s got the talent and potential to be one of the top 2028 defenders in the region next year.
