ATHENS - Another Luckie is heading to Athens to play for UGA Football.

Kirby Smart already has one Luckie on the roster in tight end Lawson Luckie, and now Georgia legacy Carter Luckie has jumped on board.

One of the state’s top defensive line targets in the 2026 class, this Norcross (GA) standout has been a long-time Bulldog target who has decided to follow in his father and brother’s footsteps.

Carter was obviously no stranger to Athens and has red and black running through his veins. Now, he’s ready to continue the family legacy in Athens.

DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!

According to FanDuel, the Houston Texans have +115 odds to win the AFC South next season.

As a prospect, it’s safe to say it was his play on the field that helped him earn an offer from Georgia. He didn’t get his offer solely based on his last name. He’s a fast-reacting defender who plays with max-effort and has a knack for finding the ball-carrier in the backfield. He’s strong enough to over-power opposing linemen and does a good job of delvering a sound tackle. He’s a stout run defender who plays with good leverage and consistently fights off blocks. He runs well for his size and uses his motor to run down plays towards the sideline. He’s disruptive and causes plenty of chaos behind the line of scrimmage.

Luckie brings plenty of size at 6-foot-5 275-pounds but looks lighter than that on film. As a sophomore in 2023, Luckie lit up the stat sheet with 54 tackles, 29 TFLs and three sacks. As a junior last fall, Luckie wasn’t as productive, but still made 51 tackles, 24 TFLs and two sacks.

He’s ranked as the No. 30 DL prospect and the No. 306 overall prospect in the 2026 class.
