ATHENS - Spring practice has come to a close for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs. Instead of cancelling their annual G-Day scrimmage, Smart and the Dawgs took the field one final time this spring in front of a respectable Bulldog crowd in Sanford Stadium.

With new faces up and down the roster, Dawg Post got an up-close look at how the Bulldogs are looking in 2025.

Here were some top performers from the day...

CB Daniel Harris:

This spring was a big one for Georgia’s returning starting cornerback. The third year defender has plenty of talent behind him, and sources say Kirby Smart is making sure the offense continues to test him. The tested him early on Saturday and Harris was up to the task. He went stride for stride with Noah Thomas down the field on the first drive and forced a big incompletion. On the next drive, Gunner Stockton tested him again, throwing to Colbie Young deep in the end-zone. Harris had perfect coverage and was able to turn around, find the ball, and make a play on it for an interception.

Harris allowed a touchdown to Young later in the scrimmage, but it wasn’t due to terrible coverage. Young made an outstanding play on the ball and won that particular matchup.

Overall, it was a good day for Harris. He wasn’t perfect, but he did have his moments. He ended the day with four tackles, two pass-breakups, and one INT.

LB CJ Allen

Georgia’s starting inside linebacker was easy to notice on Saturday. He shows great instincts, toughness, and a true nose for the football. He was all over the place and ended G-Day with eight tackles and three TFLs. Glenn Schumann’s linebackers usually take a massive step forward in year three and Allen will likely continue that tradition. He was impressive and should be one of the best linebackers in the SEC next fall.

DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!

According to FanDuel, the Oklahoma City Thunder have +180 odds to win the NBA Finals this summer.

LB Justin Williams

Kirby Smart said Williams was an “alpha” this spring and that’s exactly what we saw from him on Saturday. He was active, productive, and was easy to notice every time he was out there. He was a starting linebacker for the 2nd-team defense and consistently found his way to the ball-carrier. He plays with passion, aggression, and should make a significant impact this fall if he continues to develop properly over the summer. Williams made nine tackles on Saturday with three TFLs and one pass-breakup.

WR London Humphreys

One of the more productive receivers during the scrimmage, the speedy wideout caught four passes for 77 yards and two touchdowns. He showed strong hands and impressive burst up the field after the catch. He’s one of the fastest receivers on the roster and showed off that speed on Saturday. There’s a lot of talent in that room, but it’s clear Humphreys will have a roll and provide quality next next season.

RB Chauncey Bowens

Nate Frazier needs some help around him and this second-year back could provide a lot of help next season. Bowens ran hard and brought a physical presence during G-Day. He doesn’t shy away from contact and opened some eyes with his ability to make defenders miss in space. He made linebacker Terrell Foster miss in the open field after a catch out of the backfield and took off down the field for a big gain. It was called back due to a holding penalty on Elyiss Williams, but it was still a great play. He ended G-Day with five carries for 38 yards. He also caught one pass for 14 yards.

WR Dillon Bell

A go-to target for Gunner Stockton, Bell led the first-team offense with five catches for 78 yards. He hauled in a big 49-yard pass from Stockton and showed consistent hands when securing the ball. He also had an end-round carry that he took 13 yards. He’s a weapon with the ball in his hands and was able to make an impact in both the running game and in the vertical passing game. He was easily one of the standouts on offense.

Other standouts

S Joenel Aguero - five total tackles

RB Bo Walker - 44 rushing yards on eight carries

LB Chris Cole - six tackles, one TFL and one pass-breakup

WR Sacovie White - two catches for 47 yards and one touchdown

DB Zion Branch - seven tackles

TE Ethan Barbour - three catches for 34 yards

CJ Wiley - One-handed 35-yard catch down the sideline. Finished with two catches for 47 yards.
